My process for poaching eggs is very simple. I boil a pot of water. I gently break an egg into a small ramekin. I lower the egg from the ramekin into the pot. I start a 3 minute and 14 second timer and I take the egg out when the timer goes off. It’s not just simple in terms of the order of operations, the flow-chart for this process would be a straight line.
In 2013, I fetched a file from the crypts tucked into the back of the Ottawa federal Crown’s office. It was unimaginably dusty and some of the files, including this one, dated from the early 80s. The first striking thing about it was that I recognized the names of both the prosecutor and defence counsel etched into the front cover. One still worked in the Crown’s office and the other was a senior defence lawyer who I had met with earlier in the day.
Data about cases that were beyond the Jordan timeline suggests that there is more to the problems of delay than complacency in the courthouses across the country. This is a summary of that data and some of the findings.
Hi there!
However you found this page, thanks for reading. I am a graduate student studying Canadian criminal law. My research focuses on criminal procedure and especially on the routine adjudicative procedures that have gone largely overlooked for the last couple of decades.
About Me Prior to being a grad student, I had a bit of a diverse career. I spent a couple of years developing software for an ecommerce company and went on to manage a team of similar-minded developers there.
